THIS IS WHY WE CAN’T HAVE NICE THINGS: Tiffany Haddish is Being Accused of Bullying & Doxing a Black Female Doctor on Clubhouse Resulting in Alleged Suicide Attempt

Well, Clubhouse is apparently starting drama already and this my friends, is why we can’t have nice things.

The new “it” app is Clubhouse, a sort of invite-only platform that features a variety of rooms where people are only allowed to connect through audio. Early on, it was a space where industry professionals hosted panels as they discussed tech, finances, and entertainment. For the latter, label heads, executives, and award-winning performers often participate in discussions, and not all are industry-focused. Recently, Tiffany Haddish was accused of bullying after listeners complained on Twitter that she, Jason Lee, and Chakra Bars attacked medical professionals while discussing conspiracy theories about COVID-19.

According to Clubhouse users, the celebrities were speaking about COVID, saying that it was a government-created virus that exists to help with facial recognition, and when a doctor spoke about the pandemic, the person was reportedly “bullied.” When the doctor (only referred to online as “Kayla”) spoke up about the pandemic, she was reportedly bullied in the chat session and then allegedly doxed by Haddish. Haddish and Chakabars, specifically, believed themselves to be attacked for their views by the opposing force from “agents of white supremacy,” as one of the doctors was allegedly called.

With the accusations floating around, there’s no evidence beyond the allegations of people who later tweeted about the conversation. (Clubhouse is a voice-based social app.) But there are unverified reports that the doctor was traumatized by the experience and attempted to harm herself.

Haddish soon caught wind of her critics and defended herself. “Now People on clubhouse saying I am bullying because I just told the truth,” she tweeted. “Funny how some people can’t handle the truth!” she added. “There is a special place in Gods Kingdom for people that like to lie and make up stories on other people.” Back in September, Haddish revealed that she contracted COVID-19 without experiencing any symptoms.

Dr. Jessica Isom, a psychiatrist, was also reportedly one of the Clubhouse members bullied and doxed, and talked about the incident’s after-effects in a detailed thread. In a tweet, she says, “my profile was tweeted by a person who is connected with celebrities who wanted consequences for perceived bullying by yours truly” and that “a celebrity read my name aloud in a room of 2K individuals instructing them to engage in bullying.” She’s also one of many asking Clubhouse to take accountability.
