Where is Mr. Biggs when you need him?… but no, all jokes aside we are definitely sending prayers up as Kelly Price has been reported “missing” in Georgia after “secretly fleeing a hospital” and revealing her positive Covid diagnosis.
For weeks there have actually been tweets floating around asking if anyone had checked in or heard from Kelly Price as the “Friend of Mine” singer had seemingly disappeared since announcing her COVID diagnosis weeks ago with no further updates. According to TMZ, The Gospel star has now been filed as an official missing person following a welfare check conducted at her home last Saturday.
Cobb County officials authorities told TMZ that they found “no evidence of foul play” and spoke with Kelly’s boyfriend at the house. However, they were not able to pinpoint her whereabouts and the 48-year-old is now listed as missing with the National Crime Information Center.
What led to this was when Kelly posted a video on July 29 revealing she had COVID and was struggling with symptoms. According to Kelly’s family… she was hospitalized about a week later and ended up in the ICU as her condition worsened. Her family told TMZ that they had contact with Kelly in early August while she was in hospital, and that her children have visited her several times. However, 3 weeks after she was admitted, her children mysteriously received a call that she had been discharged, which was surprising as she was apparently still not quite healthy.
The family say nothing has been heard from Kelly since, and they told police that her boyfriend would prevent friends and relatives from visiting her home. This led to quite a bit of concern and of course the aforementioned welfare check. Now she is officially considered missing and we are told there is an active investigation to find her. We’ll keep you posted on this story as it comes in. I truly hope Kelly is safe and doing ok somewhere.
