HERE FOR IT OR KEEP IT?: Get Your Custom Fish Tanks & Car Collections Ready; MTV Announced ‘Cribs’ is Coming Back 20 Years Later

MTV is bringing back a classic that took us all into our fave celebrity homes back in the day, but will it work in the social media age?

Before Instagram and Tik Tok took us into celebrity lives regularly, there was MTV’s ‘Cribs.’ ViacomCBS is rebooting the show that purported to give glimpses into the lives of celebrities: their fridges, their big ol’ fish tanks, car collections, and as many always liked to inevitably put it, “where the magic happened.” Per Deadline, new episodes of the show will feature the following stars Ashlee Simpson and Evan Ross, Big Sean, Christian Siriano, Johnny Weir, JoJo Siwa, Jordyn Woods, Kathy Griffin, Marsai Martin, Martha Stewart, Nick Young, Nico Tortorella, Nicole “Snooki” Polizzi, Rick Ross, Ryan Lochte, Scott Disick, Tia Mowry, Tinashe and TJ Lavin.

The original run of Cribs had its fair share of iconic moments. Mariah Carey had a whole episode devoted to her NYC townhome; she took a bath on-camera and exercised in heels. On the other side of the spectrum, Redman showed us his shoebox money, and Missy Elliott showed us the adult version of a car bed. Whatever high jinks this new iteration has in store are not yet known but it is fairly exciting to think about the nostalgia that all of this could bring alone.

The original Cribs premiered in 2000 and aired over 100 episodes across its various formats. A reboot followed in 2010, as well as CMT spinoffs and a Snapchat short-form series, but hopefully MTV has the right folks involve for this one to recapture the magic that it used to have.

Are you here for this? Who’s home would you like to see? What other shows would you like to see come back?
