The internet went wild with a suggestion of a collab between these titans in female hip hop, but not so fast.
We live in a time where unfortunately many people believe everything on the internet that they read is as solid as a bible verse. Whether it be relationship rumors, scandalous accusations, or even something as simple as people being related, it seems any random off of the street can post some fan-created story and it unfortunately spread like wild-fire. Case in point, a collaboration between hip hop superstars Cardi B and Nicki Minaj.
While it seems unlikely that the two would ever work together after kicking off a heated feud years ago, which included that infamous altercation at New York Fashion Week, over the last few days rumors suggested that Cardi B and Nicki Minaj were putting their differences aside for a brand new collaboration which was immediately picked up by several outlets bringing attention to the rumored track. However, before we completely debunk these claims, let’s also get into where it came from. It all started when Minaj’s fans were harassing Cardi per usual, having enough of the shenanigans Bardi clapped back at the minions mentioning an upcoming collab record that she said would make some people mad.

Following this tweet, several gossip sites cited that a collab featuring Nicki and Cardi was coming called “Lavish” and that the song was also listed on Genius for some time before being removed. However, it seems that many are unaware that unfortunately anyone can register a “song” on Genius, so that usually isn’t the safest receipt to bring back to the store. Well, in effort to clear up the misinformation, we’ve spoken with Cardi directly and she has confirmed this to be untrue. While both women are moving on with their lives and careers there is no collab in the works.
