NOT TODAY: Tory Lanez Request for Bail While Seeking Appeal Has Been Denied; Will Continue to Serve His 10 Year Prison Sentence

It’s definitely giving the ‘little engine that could’ when it comes to Tory’s persistence in fighting the inevitable… and today the judge reminded him that he just may have to take accountability for his actions despite his countless attempts.

Tory Lanez was sentenced to ten years behind bars for his role in Megan Thee Stallion’s 2020 shooting last month. Today (Sept 14th), the pint-sized rapper was scheduled to appear in court again, asking to be released on bail while he seeks an appeal.

In a quick hearing, Judge David Herriford denied the bail motion citing the “violent felony” Peterson was convicted of, Peterson’s “history of violating court orders,” namely the previously instituted protective order, and Peterson’s deportation risk as he is not a United States citizen.

Given the results of this miniature Canadian and his team’s previous efforts to lessen his punishment as well as his insistence on not taking any accountability in the matter, getting granted bail never really seemed realistic to most of the general public.. but hey, he’s expected to fight for his freedom. The request came after Peterson was denied probation prior to last month’s sentencing when his attorneys said Peterson suffered from alcohol and drug addiction and should go to rehab instead. Herriford also denied Lanez request for a new trial in May.

So at this point the little guy is going to remain in jail while he awaits his appeal which could take quite some time. What are your thoughts on this mess?
