Of course it’s sad to see any couple call it quits but although Jeannie and Jeezy seemed like a bit of an odd couple at first, there was something about them that it seemed like people liked so this is sad to hear.
It looks like Jeezy’s Thug Motivation motivated him to head straight to the courthouse and “Put On” for the clerk. It has now been reported that the rapper has filed for divorce his wife, TV host, Jeannie Mai, after just two years of marriage. According to the Atlanta Journal-Consitution, the MC filed for divorce on September 14 at a Fulton County Court.
There had been rumblings online about the romance falling on hard times as of late and although this was nothing but speculation and rumors up until now, it’s of note that neither party had posted anything about the other – sans a promotional post for Jeezy’s new book ‘Adversity for Sale’ – since June. Interestingly, per Jeezy’s filing, the couple has already been separated.
The pair, who married in April 2021, share one child together, daughter Monaco Mai-Jenkins (who was born in January 2022). Jeezy, real name Jay Jenkins, is seeking joint legal custody of the youngster. No further details are available at this time on what led to the filing. The couple has remained fairly private throughout their relationship so it’ll be interesting to hear how this plays out and what caused the two to drift apart.
Jeannie was previously married to Freddie Harteis who she split from in 2017. We’ll keep you posted on this story as more information becomes available. Are you sad to see these to call it quits?
