SAY IT AIN’T SO: Lizzo Reportedly Dropped From Super Bowl Halftime Show Consideration Following Controversial Lawsuit

I really hate this for Lizzo because it’s starting to look like regardless of how this case ends up playing out, it’s already proving to have a lasting affect on her career and how people perceive her.

Lizzo’s been a beacon in the body-positivity movement since she made it big. Her songs boast clear messages of empowerment, self-love, and more. This, coupled with her seemingly fun and bubbly personality, has gained the pop star millions of fans around the world. Last week, however, it appears as though everything came crashing down for Lizzo, as multiple former employees came forward with some serious allegations against her. According to a lawsuit filed by three of her ex-backup dancers, the “Truth Hurts” performer created a hostile working environment and engaged in sexual harassment.

It’s has since been reported that six additional former employees have been vetted amid the process of the lawsuit. According to lawyer Ron Zambrano, these dancers share “similar stories” to the ones that were revealed last week. Apparently, the dancers were subjected to a “sexually charged environment,” and were not properly paid. “Some of the claims we are reviewing may be actionable, but it is too soon to say,” Zambrano claims.

As if the allegations stacking up again Lizzo weren’t enough, it appears the situation is already affecting her bag and huge opportunities. According to the folks over at The Daily Mail, Lizzo has been dropped from Super Bowl LVII Halftime Show headliner consideration following the news of the allegations against her.

An NFL insider reportedly told Daily Mail that the ensuing backlash over the allegations has prompted the organization to immediately drop Lizzo from Super Bowl Halftime Show contention – having previously had her name in the mix as one of the front-runners for the 2024 spectacle. ‘Talks of Lizzo being a part of the Halftime festivities, or performing the National Anthem, are dead now that she is surrounded by scandal,’ the source said in the wake of the accusations – which Lizzo vehemently denies.

As Lizzo is removed from the potential line-up at this year’s Super Bowl, which is taking place in Las Vegas in February 2024, her team is facing a desperate struggle to salvage her career and reputation. A second source close to the singer stated that her team is ‘desperately trying to come up with a strategy to save her sinking ship.’

‘It is becoming more and more difficult with more people coming forth accusing her of extremely inappropriate acts, If she speaks out, her statements are shredded. If she stays quiet, she is called a coward. Either way, it does not appear at this moment that she can recover from this,’ the source says.

This is all just really unfortunate and I’m interested to see how it ends up playing out. What do you guys think? Are people moving on from Lizzo a bit too fast?
