You know what’s weird? People always want to claim people and the things that they do are “suspect” but when a man is openly telling you that he’s gay, y’all flip it into a completely different conspiracy. Like what?
It’s been almost four years since Lil Nas X came out. He’s spent that time making music talking about his queer identity, playing with fashion all along the gender expression spectrum, and giving the devil himself a lap dance, and yet there are still people who refuse to believe he’s actually… checks notes… gay, for some reason.
That offensive take has reared its head time and time again since he came out, with folks believing that Nas some gay for pay industry experiment. So much so that he’s actually addressed it many times himself. “do i have to give head at 3:45 am behind a mcdonalds in chicago on a friday night during the middle of pride month while streaming on twitch and ig live for y’all to realize i am really a fruitcake,” LNX questioned via Twitter just last month.
Well, apparently that little McDonald’s show may be needed because the conversation is being ignited again, this time by social media personality Woah Vicky… and she claims she has receipts. Vicky sat down wit the We In Miami podcast and when she was asked her opinion of LNX, she replied that she believe he “needs Jesus” and that he “sold his soul.” When the host asked her to elaborate she continued:
“I wanted to say this about Lil Nas X,” she said on We In Miami. “I got a few friends who went to school with him and they say he never was gay. I know for a fact that what he’s doing is cause they told him like you gotta do this now … It’s getting popularity. It’s getting your money. Getting your views. So it’s like selling your soul.”
I’m not sure what makes Vicky or anyone else think that they can tell this man what his sexuality is but apparently it’s going to take him doing some bending live on pay-per-view for some folks to believe it. But here’s a better question… why does it matter? Take a look at the clip and let us know your thoughts.
