WHO’S FIRING THE SHOTS NOW?: Megan Thee Stallion Drags The Hell Out Tory Lanez & Former BFF Kelsey Nicole On Her Album Opener

Beyoncé and Jay-Z must’ve told Megan to put it all on wax because for the first time she didn’t hold back in giving little Tory the lashing he deserves.

She has talked about the July shooting incident involving Tory Lanez on Instagram Live a few times, in a New York Times op-ed, and most recently detailed her version of events with GQ magazine, but still, somehow the full version of the story remained a bit foggy as Megan Thee Stallion seemed to take the high road and instead of bad mouthing the pint sized rapper and being as disrespectful as most would have been, used the incident as a message to promote the bigger picture of protecting our black women…until now. When earlier this week, the tracklist for Megan’s official debut album “Good News” was revealed, fans immediately noticed the title of the opening track was called “Shots Fired” on the album, which many presumed would address the infamous incident back in July…and boy were they right.

‘Shots Fired’, which samples The Notorious B.I.G.‘s classic ‘Who Shot Ya?’, is indeed a diss track obviously aimed at Lanez — although his name isn’t mentioned and she even taunts him with that fact, along with a couple jabs referencing her former BFF Kelsey Nicole who has been heavily talked about as being involved in the incident as well. “Imagine n****s lyin’ ’bout shootin’ a real bitch,” she raps, “just to save face for rapper n****s you chill with”. She later appears to claim that Lanez “would have been indicted” had she alleged he shot her in the week after the incident, adding: “Should’ve let them lock your ass up”.

Not much major new information is revealed, with the exception of her apparently saying that the gun Lanez fired at her was loaded with pellets — which addresses Lanez’s lyric where he questions how Megan could have been shot without any injury to her bones or tendons. “You shot a 5’10” bitch, with a .22 / Talkin’ ’bout bones and tendons like them bullets weren’t pellets.’

“A p*ssy n***a with a p*ssy gun in his feelings / Okay, he in the backseat and he keep callin’ me a bitch (He a bitch).’ The lyrics definitely fill in some other minor details that many have question about the incident. After one quick listen to the album, it appears that the Houston Hottie said what she had to say here and she doesn’t address the incident again.

Lanez, who is charged with assault in connection with the incident based on Megan’s statements on social media, pleaded not guilty via his attorney at his arraignment earlier this week. He is due back in court in January. Take a listen to “Shots Fired” along with the lyrics and some of social medias reactions below. Thoughts?

“Imagine n—as lyin’ about shootin’ a real bitch
Just to save face for rapper n—as you chill with
Imagine me givin’ a fuck it was your fuckin’ birthday
You in your feelings, I just thought it was another Thursday
Now imagine me cockblocking them n—as, on some dry shit
I don’t want you on a bitch, believe you wouldn’t been invited
And if it weren’t for me, same week, you would have been indicted (Lock yo’ ass up)…

You shot a 5’10” bitch with a .22
Talkin’ ’bout bones and tendons like them bullets weren’t pellets
A pussy n—a with a pussy gun in his feelings
Okay, he in the backseat and he keep callin’ me a bitch
We all know this shit, I coulda came back with (Lil’ ass n—a)…

“Who a snitch? I ain’t never went to the police with no names
I thought a bitch that got her chance…

“They want me to be the bad guy? Lemme put my mask on
I was chose, I ain’t asked to be this motherfuckin’ cold…

“I’m a steak, you a side plate, shrimp, stay in your place
Real bitch, yeah, yeah, I ain’t sellin’ fairytales…

“Kick me while I’m down bad, I remember all that
Next n—a sent a shot, I’ma sent it right back.”
