LUCID NIGHTMARE: Sting Allegedly Threatened Juice WRLD With Lawsuit Over “Lucid Dreams” Sample; Wants 85% of the Song’s Profits

The producer of “Lucid Dreams” claims Sting threatened Juice WRLD with punitive action.

After previously referring to Juice WRLD’s “Lucid Dreams” as the most intelligent interpretation of his song “Shape Of My Heart,” Sting allegedly threatened legal action against the rapper and producer Nick Mira. Evidence of such exists courtesy Nick Mira’s Twitter but has been since deleted, for reasons yet to be uncovered.

In the deleted Twitter transcripts, Nick Mira, the song’s producer, claims that Sting did, in essence, change his tune, after publicly declaring his admiration for the sample flip. Mira wrote, “Fuck @OfficialSting and his WHOLE team,” in a Tweet posted yesterday afternoon.

“After taking 85% of Lucid Dreams (for interpolating Shape of My Heart, NOT EVEN sampling) he threatened to take us to court for trying to get any %,” he continued in the post. “Sting ALSO flexed stealing our money and said it put his grandkids through college.”

Mira followed up his rundown of the incident with a second Tweet urging his followers to start a spree of “FUCK @OfficalSting” reactionary Tweets, in order to rally together support for Juice WRLD’s cause.

As a record, “Lucid Dreams” was perhaps the main catalyst in Juice WRLD’s rise to stardom. Now it looks as if the song is going to cause him quite the headache.

Juice WRLD has since broken his silence on the matter delivering a message filled with gratitude and optimism, proving that he preferred to take a non-confrontational route to address the issue. “Lost millions, made millions,” he wrote. “The song impacted [too] many ppl in a good way for me to be upset over it…there’s more money to be made and I will make it so [love heart emojis].”
