ISSA BOP OR ISSA FLOP?: Megan Thee Stallion is Laying Her Haters to Rest in “Ungrateful” featuring Key Glock

On ‘Ungrateful’ Meg has a message for her haters and if the video is any indication, she’s laying them and everything they have to say about her to rest.

It’s been an interesting time for Megan Thee Stallion as of late. She’s coming up on her long drawn court trial for the shooting incident with pint-sized rap singer Tory Lanez, she’s been seen having quite a few public spats via social media with foes such as label owner Carl Crawford, her former best friend Kelsey, and even a few one sided enemies who insist on subbing her on those same social platforms. However, Megan isn’t letting that distract her from consistently dropping music. In August, she released her sophomore album ‘Traumazine’ and now she’s back with the next single/video to be lifted from the project, ‘Ungrateful’ featuring Key Glock.

Now, I have to be honest, as a whole ‘Tramuazine’ is not my favorite album but it does have quite a few tracks I revisit and ‘Ungrateful’ is easily one of those standouts so I was glad to see it was receiving the video treatment. Meg and Key Glock two deliver bars which easily resonates with the drama we’ve seen her have to deal with as she raps about people who wish her ill over the hard-hitting production by Bandplay. The hook is a definitely an earworm, as Megan lists the qualities of her haters: “Whole lot of fake-a**, snake-a**, backstabbin’, hatin’-a**, no money gettin’-a** b***hes.”

The Colin Tilley-directed visual follows Megan as she shows up to a funeral in style, though it’s unclear who exactly is being mourned. Right after laying a black rose on the casket and shedding a single tear, Megan suddenly switches places with an alternate version of herself, this one dressed in all white and donning a remarkably large hat. So it’s sort of up in the air if she may have been laying her old self and trauma to rest or if it could indeed be the haters the song references, we’ll leave that to Meg to explain. The clip ends with this Meg linking up with Key Glock and driving through a rain storm.
