SAY WHAT NOW?: Keke Palmer Postpones Restraining Order Hearing Against Darius Jackson As They Attempt to “Resolve Things Privately”

I… actually won’t even say too much here, but I just hope that Keke and her child are protected here because nothing about the previous allegations sounded like peace was even an option.

Last month, fans were shocked to hear about the newest details in Keke Palmer and Darius Jackson’s ongoing public drama. Things started off rocky enough earlier this year when controversy sparked online after Jackson publicly criticized the outfit Palmer wore to an Usher concert in Las Vegas. In the wake of that online drama, the couple seemed to split up, only to get back together a few months later.

That led to the shocking reports that broke last month. Palmer filed a restraining order against Jackson and also filed for sole custody of their child. A judge quickly granted both temporarily while scheduling full hearings on the matters for later on. But before the retraining order hearing could arrive. Palmer has now called it off. Now it has been reported that ahead of the scheduled hearing on December 5th, both parties are agreeing to handle things privately, stating that they plan to attend mediation together in newly released documents. While this does not mean that the restraining order hearing will not happen completely (as of right now), it does mean that Palmer and Jackson are mediating their custody arrangement privately and have requested that a hearing regarding the restraining order simply be postponed. Which one would assume that if they’re mediation goes well, it could then be dropped.

In the original restraining order filing Palmer alleges that during their relationship there were “many instances of physical violence,” including Jackson “grabbing me around the neck, destroying my personal property, including diaries and prescription eyeglasses, throwing my belongings into the street, throwing my car keys to prevent me from driving away, hitting me in front of our son, spewing profanities about me to our son, threatening to kill himself with a gun if I left him, harassment and other physical and emotional abuse.”

Although the relationship apparently ended in October, Palmer alleges that the abuse did not. Shortly before the restraining order was filed, she says, “Darius trespassed into my home without my knowledge or consent, threatened me, then physically attacked me — lunging for my neck, striking me, throwing me over the couch, and stealing my phone when I told him I was going to call the police.”

According to Page Six, Palmer and Jackson started mediation on Wednesday. The exes have agreed to continue talking at a “mutually agreeable date” that has yet to be set. We’ll keep you posted on how this plays out. Thoughts?
