I think it’s obvious the internet has really desensitized many when it comes to tragic situations that any normal person with a heart would be empathetic for. Janae Gagnier was tragically killed in a murder-suicide at her Texas home, reportedly by a man who stalked her.
Several celebrities have come forward to mourn the tragic death of Janae “Miss Mercedes Morr” Gagnier. On Monday (August 30), the tragic news broke that Gagnier was found dead in her Texas home alongside 34-year-old Kevin Alexander Accorto. According to authorities, the Instagram influencer and model, who boasted over 2 million followers, did not have a personal relationship with Accorto. It has been reported that Gagneir was strangled to death and suffered “traumatic concussion” in a murder-suicide.
Gagnier’s mother told reporters that Accorto was being followed. “She’s very cautious about her surroundings,” Jeanetta Grover said. “Unfortunately, someone basically was stalking, and killed my baby.”
The model’s father, Mark, revealed to reporters how he discovered his daughter’s body. “I walk in and Janae’s on the floor, and her clothes are all torn up and stuff,” he said. “I go upstairs, guy upstairs with a knife in him, still alive… I just couldn’t do nothing but stand there and call the police,” he added. “That’s the true story and that’s what I want out.” Cardi B shared a video of a news report about the story and unleashed on anyone who had negative things to say about Gagnier online after some folks tried to blame Morr for her own death. “So sad and f*ck you b*tches and Nikkas trying to justify it cause of her lifestyle,” Cardi wrote. “Ya will hate on a bad b*tch dead or alive. She was a sweetheart.”
Now, The late model’s mother, Jeanetta Grover, has spoken with the folks over at TMZ sharing that the family is extremely grateful that Cardi brought awareness to her daughter’s tragic death, because Cardi took the attention away from her daughter’s alleged murderer and put it back on Mercedes. The family also shared that Mercedes was a huge fan of Cardi’s, with a fiery spirit and a kind heart, and they reached out privately to Cardi to extend an invite to the memorial service.
Such a tragedy. I’m glad Bardi used her platform to check folks who were speaking ignorantly about this woman’s death. No matter what you think of someone or their lifestyle, no one deserves to lose their life in such a tragic manner. Our thoughts and prayers go out to Mercedes family and loved one’s at this time.
