Queen Bey set the world on fire this summer with her jaw-dropping, fashion-forward ‘Renaissance’ world tour, kicking it all off in Stockholm, Sweden, back in May and taking her final bow in Kansas City on Sunday night (October 2nd). This tour was full of unforgettable moments – from dancing robots to Blue Ivy’s nightly appearance, to surprise performances from Diana Ross, Megan Thee Stallion, and Kendrick Lamar. The show was undeniably the hottest ticket this summer and now Bey is about to take a well-deserved break, but not without giving her Beyhive one last surprise.
Beyoncé has partnered with AMC Theatres to release a Renaissance World Tour concert film, called but what else? ‘Renaissance: A Film Beyoncé’ This news might not come as a surprise to fans who attended her shows in Houston, Texas, and spotted notices of recording at their stadium. But it’s likely a wave of relief to anyone who couldn’t get their hands on tickets when Bey was in their city.
According to Variety, the film is set to feature footage from the Renaissance World Tour, the long-awaited videos shot for the visual album “Renaissance” and a docu-style account of recording the album and conceiving the tour. The official description reads as follows:
“RENAISSANCE: A FILM BY BEYONCÉ accentuates the journey of RENAISSANCE WORLD TOUR, from its inception, to the opening in Stockholm, Sweden, to the finale in Kansas City, Missouri. It is about Beyoncé’s intention, hard work, involvement in every aspect of the production, her creative mind and purpose to create her legacy, and master her craft. Received with extraordinary acclaim, Beyoncé’s RENAISSANCE WORLD TOUR created a sanctuary for freedom, and shared joy, for more than 2.7 million fans.
Tickets for Beyoncé’s Renaissance film are currently on sale according to her website at beyoncefilm.com. Fans attending IMAX at AMC, Dolby Cinema at AMC, and other premium large formats will be subject to a standard charge-up fee, which will vary in price between theaters and formats.
