FACTS OR REACHING?: Remy Ma Says Media Coverage Helped Sway the Verdict in Tory Lanez & Megan Thee Stallion Trial

Once again, two things can be true. The media obviously can have a large impact on public cases like this. However, the ironic part is that most of the media games attempting to push a certain narrative and manipulate the public actually came from Tory’s end.

While speaking with The Jason Lee Show this week along with Hitman Holla, Remy Ma stated that she believes the media swayed the Tory Lanez and Megan Thee Stallion shooting verdict that case resulted in the pint sized rapper’s conviction. Of course, many quickly assumed that she’s on Lanez’s side. However, the New York rapper’s comments took a broader aim at media coverage, and she didn’t say whether she believed Lanez shot Meg. Overall, it’s a difficult and relevant conversation to have. After all, many have agreed with her, but still knew that the evidence against that little guy definitely pointed to his guilt.

“I feel like when it come to public cases, the media convicts people and the media determines what a verdict is,” Remy expressed. “Coming from somebody who was on trial before, everything is never 100% on your side. Each side is gonna bend s**t so that it goes to whatever caters to them. I just feel like lot of times, especially with celebrities, everybody go with who’s their favorite.” Lee pushed back with some questions. “This hashtag, ‘Protect Black Women.’ Is it a real thing? ‘Cause everybody be talking about the Black queens. But I feel like when Meg and that whole Tory thing went down, nobody was really standing up for her.”

“I mean, the thing with that is, nobody knew the truth,” Holla responded. “They don’t, but I’m saying that you can’t expect somebody to protect somebody. ‘Cause what if she was, like..? I’m just saying, I stay out of people’s business if I don’t know what’s going on. If I don’t know if it’s true or not, I stay out the way.” Then, Lee asked a doubtful Remy if she thinks Tory shot Meg. “I don’t know, I wasn’t there, I’m not in the space to talk about anybody getting shot. If she was black or white, I wasn’t there.”

Jason did however push back on that, mentioning the paperwork of the case and evidence. However, Remy’s comments seemed less against Megan than they are skeptical of the media as a whole. Take a look at the clip for yourself followed by a few reactions and let us know your thoughts.
