SOMEBODY COME LOOK AT THIS: Drake Seems to Call for Tory Lanez’ Freedom Despite Megan Thee Stallion Shooting Conviction

I always wonder how the Daystar Disciples would feel if this little guy would’ve shot someone they love. Like what if this was their sister, mother, cousin? Would it still be okay to automatically discount her trauma just because you like his music?

It seems Drake is publicly calling for Tory Lanez’s freedom following his fellow Canadian’s August 2023 sentencing to 10 years in the Megan Thee Stallion shooting case. Early Monday morning, the “Spin Bout U” rapper shared a series of updates to his Instagram Stories, but the one that caught everyone’s attention was a photo of Lanez captioned, “3 you.”

Shortly thereafter, screenshots of his post circulated on social media, and Drake began trending with varying opinions, but also seeing many call out the rapper for his apparent stance, “not Drake posting free Tory Lanez. why one of my goats gotta be a clown?” wrote one fan. Another added, “Drake been known to be misogynistic towards women.. let’s see how this goes today.”

This isn’t Drake’s first run in with the Tory/Megan saga. In late 2022, Drake was dragged online after seemingly dissing Megan on Her Loss album track, “Circo Loco.” “This b#### lie about getting shots, but she still a stallion/She don’t even get the joke but she still smiling,” he raps on the track.

At the time, Megan appeared to respond in a series of tweets, calling out rappers using her for clout and ignoring abuse against Black women. “I know I’m very popular,” she began. “But y’all gotta stop attaching weak ass conspiracy theories in bars to my name lol N##### nor hoes EVER address me or @ me WITH a fact or receipts. I AM CLOUT B#### keep sucking my p####.

“Stop using my shooting for clout b#### ass N#####!,” Megan Thee Stallion added before questioning, “Since when tf is it cool to joke abt women getting shot ! You n##### especially RAP N##### ARE LAME! Ready to boycott bout shoes and clothes but dog pile on a black woman when she say one of y’all homeboys abused her.”

Lanez was convicted of assault with an automatic firearm, carrying an unregistered loaded firearm in a vehicle, and discharge of a firearm with gross negligence.
