Little Tory Lanez apparently used his lucky charms to work some leprechaun magic as we recently saw a major shift in the court of public opinion. Following the release of his album ‘DAYSTAR,’ many defended the pint-sized rapper against claims that he shot Megan Thee Stallion back in July, simply because he said he didn’t do it. This saw an influx of negative comments against Megan begin, with some even going as far as calling her a liar because apparently to these folks, somehow Tory’s word held so much more value. One common quote from naysayers (who obviously don’t know how the legal system works) was raising the question of why Lanez wasn’t being charged, not realizing that it’s totally possible for a guilty person to never be charged with a crime as well as it being possible for a non guilty party to be unfortunately falsely charged and/or convicted. This along with the fact that it’s not even the charges being raised against a party that are most damaging as an actual conviction would still have to follow. Either way, tose with that question can finally rest their leprechaun loving heads with the latest news on the topic.
According to the Los Angeles District Attorney, Tory Lanez (real name: Daystar Peterson) has officially been charged with assaulting Megan Thee Stallion including being accused of shooting the Hot Girl rapper which landed her in an L.A. hospital with gunshot wounds to her feet. The rapper was charged with one felony of “assault with a semiautomatic firearm, personal use of a firearm, and carrying a loaded, unregistered firearm in a vehicle.” Tory is also facing an allegation that he personally used the firearm to “inflict great bodily injury.”
According to the DA, the rap star allegedly got into a verbal altercation with the 24-year-old victim, Megan Thee Stallion, while riding in an SUV in the Hollywood Hills. They claim that when “the victim exited the vehicle and Peterson is accused of shooting several times at her feet and wounding her.” The description confirms multiple reports that it was Tory who pulled the trigger, injuring The Stallion. According to prosecutors, “If convicted as charged, the (Tory Lanez) faces a possible maximum sentence of 22 years and eight months in state prison. Interestingly, the LADA claims the case is still under investigation by the LAPD, and things could change based on any more information that is gathered.
Tory Lanez is due in court to face the charges in an arraignment on October 1. We’ll keep you posted on this one as it develops.
