WELL IT’S DEFINITELY A STRUGGLE NOW: Apparently Joe Budden May Be Parting Ways with Complex’s ‘Everyday Struggle’

For those keeping up, Everyday Struggle was one of 2017’s breakout surprises, and the show that paired DJ Akademiks against Joe Budden quickly amassed a loyal following. From the Lil Yachty interview, to the infamous “Bad & Boujee” incident, Everyday Struggle became an integral cog in the hip-hop media machine, delivering hilarious, insightful, and at times frustrating content. Overall, the series was really starting to grow into its own, and by the end of the debut “season,” Joe and Ak had developed an entertaining and respectable chemistry. However, as the year edged to a close, talk of renewed contracts became more and more frequent, and now, it would appear that Joe’s future with the series remains uncertain.

Yesterday’s episode found DJ Whoo Kid taking up hosting duties for the week, citing Joe Budden’s decision to take paternity leave. However, Budden cleared the air on Twitter, claiming that Complex was using his child to mask “internal chaos.”

Afterward, Joe proceeded to fire off some Tweets addressing his decision to seemingly move on from Everyday Struggle, encouraging creators to remain steadfast in their goals and to “know their worth.” Plus, he also claims that they didn’t even give him a proper goodbye. If so, it’s a sad day for Everyday Struggle fans, but it seems as if Joe will continue to make an impression on the game. On the other hand, perhaps this is all a hard-nosed negotiation scheme, and we’ll soon be seeing Budden back in the co-host chair. Only time will tell.
