UPDATE: Jamie Foxx Said to Be ‘Recovering Well’ in Chicago Rehabilitation Center with His Family By His Side

Contrary to what’s been reported previously around this situation from various outlets, it sounds like while Jamie still is has quite a bit to go through as far as recovery, he’s far from “expecting the worst” as some have indicated.

Baby, the different stories around this medical situation with Jamie Foxx could probably cover a whole new season of The Jamie Foxx Show at this point… and quite an interesting one at that. The latest reports about Jamie Foxx’s condition following a ‘medical scare’ in mid-April came a as a bit of surprise as reports from “sources close to the situation” indicated the complete opposite. As recently as May 11, outlets were reportedly being told by sources that Foxx’s family was preparing for the worst. However, his daughter Corinne Foxx’s message just a few days ago exposed the media’s overeagerness to report on the situation. As she let us know that wasn’t exactly the case.

“Sad to see how the media runs wild. My Dad has been out of the hospital for weeks, recuperating. In fact, he was playing pickleball yesterday! Thanks for everyone’s prayers and support!” she wrote via her IG story. Now, another update from TMZ gives a bit more insight on Foxx’s current condition. The outlet reports that Jamie’s family, including his daughters Corinne and Anelise, as well as Anelise’s mother, Kristin Grannis, were all in Chicago both Saturday and Sunday to spend time with Foxx during his continued care at a physical rehabilitation center.

While they have not confirmed exactly what landed Foxx her, it has been widely speculated that he suffered a stroke and interestingly enough the the facility specializes in stroke recovery, traumatic brain injury rehab, spinal cord injury rehab and cancer rehabilitation.

The source also notes that Foxx arrived at this facility in Chicago in late April — after initially getting treatment in an Atlanta hospital, which lines up with Corinne’s account that he had been “out of the hospital for weeks,” they also claim that Jamie is “recovering well.”

While it’s clear he’s still getting treatment, the rehab center is obviously encouraging for Jamie’s overall progress and the facility offers an adaptive sports and fitness program — which could explain the game of pickleball that Corinne also mentioned.

Corinne Foxx also announced a new game show project with her father earlier today so it all seems to be headed in the right direction. Ultimately let’s just continue to send thoughts and prayers so we can see this Hollywood legend back out there. We’ll keep you posted as this continues to play out.
