Mariah Carey’s Christmas song breaks a Spotify record on Christmas Eve.
‘Tis the season. And the season comes with good ol’ fashioned Christmas music, namely Mariah Carey’s “All I Want for Christmas Is You.” Apparently, the song has been played so much that’s managed to break Spotify’s streaming record for most streams in a single day, and this happened on Christmas Eve, obviously.
According to reports the festive classic was streamed 10,819,009 times on December 24th, which surpasses the XXXTentacion’s “SAD!” single. “SAD!” previously held the record for most Spotify streams in a single day, racking up 10.4 million in June of this year.
The song was released in 1994, and has remained a Christmas staple when it comes to playlisting. You can stream it below
