Orange is the New Black (OITNB) star Laverne Cox is in love with her boyfriend of eight months whom she admitted she met on Tinder.
In an interview, the 45-year-old actress said she went back on Tinder after the breakup with her previous boyfriend to stay “in the game.”
“Honestly, I’m a Tinder girl. When I broke up with my ex, I went back on Tinder, because I feel like if you want to date, you have to be in the apps. You have to be on the apps to be in the game,” Cox said.
Cox, who came out as a transgender, said that men on Tinder did not initially recognize her. She added that finding a date on Tinder entails some risks. Good thing though, she said, her screening skills came in handy.
“I’m really good at screening. I’ve been Internet dating for a very long time,” Cox further confessed.
Since the critically-acclaimed actress is opening herself up to love, she said she did not put much effort into the first date with her mystery boyfriend.
“But I’m not putting effort into a guy that I don’t know yet,” Cox shared. On the first meeting, she said she wore no makeup and went on with jean shorts.
Cox said she is surprised that the relationship is going smoothly so far.
“I’m in love. It’s incredible, it really is. It’s like love is so incredibly healing,” Cox gushed.
