SAY WHAT NOW?: 2 Chainz Puts Walmart On Blast Over His Stealing his “Dabbin’ Santa” Sweaters

2 Chainz took notice that Walmart lifted his über-profitable “Dabbing Santa” Christmas sweater idea for profit on their racks, and he took them to task via social media.

The “Hair Weave Killer” blasted the superstore on Instagram Thursday (Dec. 14), writing that they didn’t get his permission to use his incredibly popular Dabbing Santa design on their clothes.

“Oooh nooo someone please tell Walmart that they didn’t get permission to use this patent or likeness in anyway,” he wrote. “We use this sweater this time of year to spread togetherness and also give back to those who are less fortunate or not able to provide for their families at the time.”

He’s absolutely right- in 2015, when the design began to make waves during the holiday season, the ATLien told Forbes that Dabbing Santa sweaters earned a cool $2 million in revenue. He also used a chunk of the profits to help those less fortunate, via his T.R.U. Foundation.

In the IG post about Walmart’s sweaters, the “It’s A Vibe” MC also added a myriad of hashtags further voicing his disdain with the obvious ripoff. They were #WALMARTGONEBUYMEAHOUSE, #WALMARTGONEBUYMEACAR, #Walmartgonegiveback2mycommunity, and #WALMARTGONEMAKEMEASTAR. He also joked that he may go to the studio and write a few bars about the hashtags.

Walmart, do better. Or was Chainz reaching?
