However, the beauty mogul’s latest hairstyle, which she proudly showed off on Snapchat for all her adoring followers, has since gone viral, and the response is not so pleasant.
In the video, the Keeping Up with the Kardashians star reveals how in love she is with her new braids, which she aptly calls her “Bo Derek braids.” Kardashian is referring to actress’ iconic role in 10, but many are accusing the star of cultural appropriation, as they believe her braids resemble the fulani hairstyle. I’m just going to say this, back in 2001 in the classic record “Girls, Girls, Girls” Jay-Z said “She thinks she’s Bo Derek, wear her hair in a twist,” and no one was offended. So where does this outrage come from when Kim mentions that’s who her inspiration was? What do you guys think? Is there a problem here? Or is this just yet another case of the internet reaching and having a problem with everything the Kardashian’s do?
