POSITIVE IMPACT: Kim Kardashian Inspired an NFL Player to Donate $1 Million to Homelesness

Former NFL lineman, Branden Albert, has reportedly decided to donate $1 million to Alexandria House, a transitional housing shelter for women and women with children. And he says it’s all because of something he saw while watching an episode of “Keeping Up With The Kardashians.”

Albert, who played nine seasons in the NFL including stints with the Kansas City Chief and Miami Dolphins, was inspired to make such a generous donation after seeing an episode of the reality show where Kim Kardashian visited Alexandria House in Los Angeles. The two-time Pro Bowler grew up in a single-parent home and made the donation in honor of his mother, who passed away five years ago after a battle with pancreatic cancer.

According to TMZ Sports,

“He happened to catch a glimpse of a ‘KUWTK’ episode a couple months ago where Kim Kardashian was visiting Alexandria House, a shelter for homeless women and homeless women with kids in L.A.”

“Branden says Alexandria House’s mission really hit home for him because he grew up in a single-parent home where his mom and aunt worked many jobs to make ends meet. So, he decided to donate $1 million to them at the end of 2017 in honor of his mom, who died 5 years ago from pancreatic cancer.”

TMZ reports that Alexandria House hopes to use Albert’s $1 million donation to buy another complex to accommodate the 600 or so people they turn away monthly simply because they don’t have space.
