K. Michelle has spoken for nearly a year now about her desire to have twins, specifically two girls, with her love, Kastan Sims. But the process hasn’t necessarily gone the way that the singer had planned in the effort to bring Rainbow and Risa into the world (those are the names she was going for, at least on her reality show).
In a recent chat with Billboard, for one, she shared that she was incorrectly diagnosed with lupus.
“I wants twins and I had this big lupus scare,” she said. “Like they called me and said I had lupus and then I [sic] so then I was freaking out, had to run to the doctor, go to a specialist, it came back negative.”
But that wasn’t the end of her struggles in the hopes of carrying twins. She opened up about that further in a revealing chat with fans on Twitter this week and discussed the health challenges she’s been dealing with lately as she’s attempted to see if she could carry the babies on her own.
So my docs told me I had lupus.I was devastated for 2weeks.Then the fertility doctor told me that I couldnt carry twins full terms.but wait

I still have to pay close attention to my blood work every 3 months 4safety. But just when I thought that was over. I get another call

Then a call from my obgyn saying that if I have twins they would not be full term because of my size and health. Literally I was so broken

I kept beating myself up like. Your being punished by God because you had that abortion. Man talk about a broken spirit.

2weeks of what felt like my world was crumbling.2day we got a call that THEY REALLY FOUND THE PERFECT SURROGATE for us.My hands were shaking
— K. Michelle (@kmichelle) September 14, 2017
Still feelin punished for what I had done in the past.I had 2find the positive because I dont believe God would leave me out there like that

I had to talk to myself. Things don't always go as u feel they should but they go and u better go wit it.

So the good news is, K does indeed have two little girls on the way with the help of a surrogate and she and Sims, who she says are engaged, are overjoyed about it.
Im about to watch the most beautiful process and that's bringing two HEALTHY little girls in the world. That's all that matter 2me.God works

Congratulations to the star and her man on their blessings. The singer already has a son named Chase from a previous relationship. She is hoping to put out her newest album, Kimberly: The People I Used to Know, tour, and then prepare to take a break to focus on motherhood.
I wanna get this album out so I can really go teach and heal from these intimate seminars i'm doing,And raise my son,and these little ones.
