NOT TODAY GIRL: Kim, Khloe, & Kourtney Kardashian Successfully Block Blac Chyna from Trademarking ‘Angela Renee Kardashian’

Blac Chyna’s attempt to trademark the Angela Renee Kardashian name has hit what appears to be its final roadblock. Chyna has officially lost the trademark bid after failing to respond to the Kardashians’ opposition, sources reported Monday. Chyna first applied for the trademark in May 2016, only to be met with claims of consumer confusion from three companies owned by Kim, Kourtney, and Khloé months later.

“On January 20, 2017, the Board issued a notice of default to Applicant because no answer had been filed,” documents from the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office, which were sent March 29, said. “No response to the notice of default has been filed. Accordingly, judgment by default is hereby entered against Applicant, the opposition is sustained, and registration to Applicant is refused.”

A less straightforward report on the trademark loss from TMZ, who first broke the initial trademark story last year, claimed this latest development may have additional ramifications within the Kardashian infrastructure. TMZ said their “takeaway” after learning of the failed trademark attempt was that Chyna and Rob Kardashian may not be getting married after all, adding that Kris Jenner is still “pulling all the strings.”

Confusingly, a previous report from TMZ in December alleged that any such trademark “war” had been called off entirely. Jenner had reportedly told Chyna there was no feud and that the trademark block was the result of a “simple mix-up.” At any rate, I guess we shouldn’t expect to see Angela Renee Kardashian-branded merch anytime soon. Sorry Chy.
