Beyoncé and Jay Z might finally be buying a home in Los Angeles . The couple, who is expecting twins, has apparently made a $120-million offer on a Bel Air spec house, reports Page Six. The property has been listed for sale off-market with an asking price of $135 million.
Located near Bel Air’s East Gate, the property sits on a quiet cul de sac. The eight-bedroom estate counts a 15-car garage, bulletproof windows, and four pools among its luxurious amenities, Page Six says.
The six-structure compound measures about 30,000 square feet in total, spread across 1.56 acres, property records show.
The estate last changed hands in 2013 for $15 million, according to Redfin. It was recently rebuilt from the ground up by Irish firm McKillen Developments.
An old promotional site for the property (since taken down) displays photos of the house, and it looks sleek and minimal with a lavish interior. A source told Page Six that, “no expense was spared in design or execution” of the estate.
It was designed by noted spec mansion builder Paul McClean. McClean is also designing a $500-million spec mansion in Bel Air that will measure more than 100,000 square feet and include four pools, a 30-car garage, and its own casino.
Beyoncé and Jay Z have kept a home in LA for years, but have yet to buy property. That’s not for lack of trying. It was rumored that they were outbid by Minecraft creator Markus Persson for an over-the-top mansion described in its own listing as “an overwhelming sensory experience.” (Persson’s winning bid was $70 million.)
It was also reported that fashion designer Tom Ford outbid the pair last year for a Beverly Hills mansion once owned by Albert Broccoli, who rose to fame as the producer of James Bond films.
Maybe the third time is the charm for the couple? If their $120-million offer is accepted, it would set a new record for the most expensive home sale in Los Angeles County history.
