Jill Scott claims that her estranged husband is badmouthing her, so she’s been granted a gag order to keep him quiet.
TMZ obtained court documents in which Jill claims that Michael Dobson has been disparaging her name, specifically citing an interview where he called her “an evil woman” and threatened to “fight dirty.”
In her documents, she says that he is violating their prenuptial agreement by speaking to media. A judge agreed and has issued the gag order.
Jill filed for divorce after less than 18 months of marriage.
We first reported the news last November, stating that the Grammy winner filed for divorce on Sept. 15, 2017, citing “irreconcilable differences” as the reason for the split. According to her divorce petition, she said, “inappropriate marital conduct that such further cohabitation would be unsafe and improper,” although she didn’t detail what that alleged misconduct was.
Mike, for his part, at the time stated that he was “blindsided” by the filing. He said they had aged to separate, but work on their relationship and keep wearing their wedding rings. He also denied any abuse or infidelity.
“She’s an evil woman. I’m telling you. It’s like what Jill Scott wants, Jill Scott gets,” he said. “She’s got issues. There’s no men in that family, there’s only women. And when a man comes in, it’s like a challenge.”
He continued, “She likes to emasculate men – that’s her problem. I told her, she’s from Philly, but I’m from New York, and if you want to try to disgrace me, try to slander me, I can fight dirty.”
Jill claimed that he has also badmouthed her to friends and family. She further alleged that she confronted him about his comments, to which he told her he was upset about her filing for divorce and he was “on a campaign of revenge to get even,” TMZ said, basing its reporting off the court filing.
Jill believes that Michael’s sole objective is to get money out of her, citing that she has business accounts worth more than $2 million and various other assets.
