Anyone who doubted that Beyoncé still held the crown of the most powerful woman in music should take a good hard look at the Instagram evidence that supports this claim.
According to Complex, the woman responsible for so many hit hip-hop and R&B crossover hits throughout the past two decades has been confirmed as the person who posted the most-liked photo to Instagram during 2017. The pic? Her pregnancy reveal shot, which amassed an incredible 11 million likes on the platform. In addition to that, she also nabbed the year’s 4th most-liked picture, holding her two new twins, Rumi and Sir, 1 month after their birth. The report states that soccer star Christiano Ronaldo and pop idol Selena Gomez managed to put several of their pictures in the Top Ten most-liked Instagram posts during 2017, but neither of them could top Bey. This only adds to her accolades from this year, which having been many and altogether jaw-dropping. Perhaps the most impressive was the distinction from Forbes as the highest-paid woman in music, after she brought in an estimated $105 million during this year. Adele and Taylor Swift were slotted behind her at No. 2 and 3 respectively.
One high-water mark that Beyoncé wasn’t able to match was that of most followers on Instagram and the most followers gained during the past year. That distinction belongs to Selena Gomez, who has over 130 million users glued to her posts on the regular. This number increased by over 34 million during 2017, showcasing her ability to appeal to the millennial demographic and prove that she is a force to be reckoned with on social media.
That being said, it’s been an incredible year for Beyoncé and this accomplishment will only add to her impressive list of achievements. Congrats to Queen Bey!
