HERE FOR IT OR KEEP IT?: SZA & Missy Elliott Hint At Potential Collaboration Via Twitter

Music fans generally spend a lot of time attempting to will collaborations into existence with little success, but with the ability to create lines of contact with artists on social media, these things can occasionally pan out. After a fan publicly expressed hope for SZA and Missy Elliott to make some music together, SZA agreed that such a collaboration would be “A dangerous dream I only dreamt in me dreams.” Not long after that, Missy weighed in, suggesting that such a pairing maybe wasn’t as far off as SZA was making it out to be. “Sounds like a SCORCHER BANGA to meπŸ”₯πŸ”₯πŸ”₯ Mercy!” She wrote, quoting SZA’s tweet.

Of course, this is not exactly confirmation that the two songwriters will be getting in the studio anytime soon, but it’s certainly encouraging. There’s no way of knowing whether or not Missy and SZA took the conversation to the DMs and are working out the details as we speak, but for now, we can always imagine that they are.

Last month, SZA confirmed that she had 6 bonus tracks lined up for an upcoming deluxe edition of her critically acclaimed 2017 album Ctrl. She has also stated that she’s been working with Tame Impala’s Kevin Parker and Mark Ronson on new material. Could a Missy collaboration be slipped in there as well? Only time will tell. Would you be here for a SZA and Missy collab?
