Big changes are coming to the beloved breakfast chain.
IHOP, also known as the International House of Pancakes, is deciding to rebrand itself after 60-years in business. Taking to Twitter, the breakfast chain has announced that they will be dropping the P from IHOP and replacing it with a b.
“For 60 pancakin’ years, we’ve been IHOP. Now, we’re flippin’ our name to IHOb. Find out what it could b on 6.11.18. #IHOb,” the company tweeted.

IHOP has yet to give an explanation as to why they’ve changed the last letter in their acronym, but many are suspecting the b will stand for breakfast. However, some Twitter users are particularly keen on the name change, with many seeing it as an unnecessary amendment.
Netflix once attempted a name change. Notice its once again called Netflix. This better be a marketing scheme. Otherwise it’s a horrendous idea.

Others believe the company may be putting on an elaborate hoax in order to galvanize some publicity for the breakfast chain. A representative for IHOP has spoken with the New York Post and confirmed that the name change is serious.
For those worried that dropping the P from their name will result in the banishment of pancakes from their menu, IHOP has officially confirmed that they will “still ‘b’ here.”
don't worry, the pancakes will still b here!
