GOOD DEEDS: Travis Scott Rents Out Movie Theatres For Kids To Watch “Black Panther”

Travis Scott has rented out two theatres in Stafford, Texas to screen Black Panther Saturday (February 17th). The rapper announced on his Instagram that the film would be shown at 4:50 Central time at the AMC Fountains 18, asking fans to arrive for the movie at 4:30. “I LOVED BLACK PANTHER SO MUCH RENTED TWO MOVIE THEATHRES [sic] FOR THE KIDS TO WATCH,” he wrote.

He tagged the post with Drake’s song title “God’s Plan.” Considering Drake challenged fans to do good deeds following his philanthropic video for the song, this could be Travis’ way of participating.

Scott also tagged the post #BigShots, referencing the song he contributed to the Black Panther soundtrack alongside Kendrick Lamar. Kendrick, who curated the soundtrack, thanked Travis, along with all his collaborators on Twitter last week. “Respect to all the artist/producers that allowed me to execute a sound for the soundtrack,” he wrote. “The concept of producing and composing a project other than my own has always been ideal. I appreciate the experience love ones. Continue to be great.”

Earlier this week, it was reported that Top Dawg Entertainment’s Anthony “Top Dawg” Tiffith was taking close to 1,000 kids to see Black Panther for free. Tiffith co-curated the soundtrack alongside Kendrick, who is signed to TDE. Last February, Chance The Rapper offered a similar service to fans when he rented out theatres in Chicago to screen Jordan Peele’s hit horror film Get Out.
