It feels like Tinashe’s sophomore album ‘Joyride’ has been getting pushed back for years now…and actually, it has. I say that because the singer has been trying to drop this project for a minute (literally years) with one new “first” single after the other, which naturally caused much disappoint from her fans.
Though the album now has an official release date, the ride of delays was a lot to keep up with, and now most of the public has lost its chill in waiting. Some internet trolls have even begun to spam Tinashe’s twitter timeline with messy comments about this, and there’s one in particular we couldn’t go without mentioning.
“love her but it’s gonna flop,” a follower with commented on a post that shared the Joyride tracklist. Sheesh, cold world, right?
Tinashe saw that and responded; she could care less about the numbers. “I don’t care anymore,” the singer wrote. “I make music for the love and for my fans not for accolades or sales.”
Though I think all artists care to a degree, I do agree with Tinashe on this one… results are superficial. Connecting with your audience is the key, the real definition of success. However, we will see if her label RCA agrees once these numbers come out, considering the large amount of money they seem to have invested in continuously trying to launch the album.

What do you guys think? Do you respect Tinashe for being so open? Or do you think he claims were more about defense?
