Lucious Lyon’s love isn’t the only thing they fought over, apparently.
Taraji P. Henson and Nia Long were at odds on the set of Empire according to a Wednesday report from TMZ. Insiders for the gossip site claim that things got so volatile that there was consideration to shoot their scenes together separately.
It reportedly began as there were claims that Nia, 46, was rude to those who worked in hair, wardrobe, and make-up which 46-year-old Taraji apparently did not take kindly to.
Nia’s reps have since denied those reports to TMZ.
However their sources indicate that things reached such a boiling point that the two stars halted even speaking to each other on set.
They also claimed that it was so hard for Long and Henson to film together that they tried to figure out a way they could film separately.
Nia’s rep told TMZ: ‘This story is complete nonsense. Throughout her long, established career, Nia has been nothing but a consummate professional treating all members of productions with respect. ‘This is nothing but another complete fabrication about a series that has been plagued by constant rumors of drama and misconduct.’
Nia began on the series during season 3 as she stars as Giuliana (Giusi) who is Lucious Lyon’s (Terrence Howard) ex.
Taraji famously plays Loretha ‘Cookie’ Lyon, who split with Lucious after a 17-year stretch in prison though the two are in the process of a reconciliation on the show.
According to TMZ sources Nia will not be asked back on the show for season 4.
