FACTS OR REACHING?: Azealia Banks Takes Legal Actions Against Rupaul After Accusing Him of Ripping Off Her Music; Has His Version Removed from Spotify – “You Will Not Step On My Little Black Girl Toes, B*tch”

It doesn’t take much to light a fire under Azealia Banks. The mere mention of her name with the wrong intonation could prove costly, if you’re at the same mixer, and she’s yielding a sharp object. Banks’ latest target is none other than RuPaul, who the rapper accused of ripping off one of her songs.

Banks tweeted this weekend that she had contacted Spotify to have them remove RuPaul’s song “Call Me Mother” (off 2016’s American) which she alleges is a ripoff of her song “The Big Big Beat,” one of the standout tracks off of her 2016 mixtape, Slay-Z.

In a series of tweets, Banks said that she got “Call Me Mother” removed from Spotify and tells RuPaul: “You will not step on my little black girl toes bitch. You will take your razor bumps and pumps to the nearest laser hair removal clinic and seethe.” She goes on to claim that the Drag Race creator is now attempting to reach out to her. “But where was that energy when you were stealing my work and using me as inspiration for your campy ass television show? I’m disappointed in him first and foremost as a black person. He was supposed to have my back.”

Banks later added that she is working to get “Call Me Mother” removed from Apple Music as well.
