FACTS OR HATING?: Apparently Plies Isn’t Here for Hip Hop Artists Sitting with Podcaster Bobbi Althoff; Says She’s “Using the Culture”

Personally, I think the few Bobbi interviews that I’ve seen sparked some pretty funny moments. But apparently Plies isn’t here for this particular Becky.

It’s pretty fair to say Bobbi Althoff’s rise to fame has been pretty quick. If anything, a small amount of people might have heard the name before. However, almost everyone knows the name now. If you have been keeping up with pop culture or even hip-hop news, you would know how she got her big break. It all began with the viral Drake interview with them sipping wine in a massive bed together. Bobbi’s quirky and cringy style quickly became the next big topic of discussion and she only increased her popularity from there. However, with fame comes tons of hate, too. Plies is one of those people who is not taking a liking to what she does.

Since June, Althoff spoke with additional Hip-Hop recording artists Armani White, Lil Yachty, Tyga and Offset. She has also questioned Dallas Mavericks owner Mark Cuban, NBA legend Shaquille O’Neal, and other celebrities. While may have found a good laugh out of the material, of course there has been a few critics, and Plies is sitting on the later side. In a now deleted tweet, Plies sounded off with his thoughts on Bobbi’s ‘The Really Good Podcast.’

Via Twitter, He ripped into Bobbi, saying, “Y’all Get Nothing Out Of This She Gets Everything!! She Needs To Use The Culture To Appear Lost!! That’s Her Cash Out!!!! 🙄.” He is echoing some celebrities and musicians that she is making a joke of the rap culture. There has been no explanation from Plies yet as to why he removed the post from his account, though. Although it’s pretty safe to assume it was based on the negative responses that followed in the comments.

Not responding directly, Plies followed up on his Twitter this morning (Oct 3) with a vague Tweet writing “Standing For Something Is Unpopular But That’s What I Love About It!!!!!” seemingly standing on his feeling from his now deleted tweet about Althoff. To be fair, Plies isn’t alone as Sports journalist Jemele Hill recently gave her opinion about Bobbi Althoff as well. “I don’t find these types of interviews particularly enjoyable or interesting. Instead it just sadly points out how real Hip-Hop journalism has been practically erased,” posted Jemele Hill on X.

What are your initial thoughts on Plies’ recently deleted tweet about Bobbi Althoff? Do you think he is being fair or foul with his comments? Where do you stand on Bobbi’s podcast?
