Never count Ciara out, because if you do, she will always return to hand you your ass while dancing hers off.
On Wednesday (July 18th), Ciara premiered her new dance heavy single ‘Level Up,’ the kind of infectious dance track that’s sure to end up on your late summer, “Oh my God I still have to be beach ready but I ate all the food at the cookout,” workout mix. However, it didn’t stop there. She immediately followed up the song with an equally intense video that would make anyone instantly fall in love with the track, if they hadn’t already off of it’s own strength.
The video was directed and choreographed by Parris Goebel, featuring CiCi and an army of dancers sporting ‘Level Up’ gear, as they stomp, thrust their hips, and run in place while lying on the floor sideways, you have to wonder if Ciara and her troupe even have time to breathe. Now, the fact that everyone involved is a skilled and trained dancer hasn’t stopped the folks of the internet from getting in on the fun and trying the moves at home.
Similar to what we recently witnessed with Drake’s ‘In My Feelings’ birthing the popular #Inmyfeelingschallenge, Ciara’s ‘Level Up’ has already popped up with it’s own #LevelUpChallenge where social media is getting up, and getting moving! While many may complain and claim to be “tired” of these types of trends once they become popular, I think we all can agree that it’s refreshing to see social media filled with something fun and positive, which is few and far between these days.
