MONEY TALKS?: Diddy & Cassie Reach Settlement Just One Day After She Files Abuse Lawsuit

Diddy cleaned that up quickly… but I honestly feel like Cassie may have already opened up a can of worms.

The entertainment industry was rocked by bombshell accusations as Cassie, an R&B singer and former signee of music mogul Sean Combs (Puff Daddy or Diddy.. or Love), filed a federal lawsuit against him on Thursday (November 16th). The lawsuit alleged a decade-long pattern of control, abuse, and even rape, stunning the public and prompting strong denials from Combs. However things seem to have cooled down almost as quickly as they heated up as just a day later the lawsuit has reportedly reached a settlement.

According to The New York Times, Combs and Cassie have reached a settlement. The parties announced on Friday evening that they had reached an agreement to resolve the case, though they disclosed no details about the terms of the settlement at this time.

“I have decided to resolve this matter amicably on terms that I have some level of control,” Cassie, whose full name is Casandra Ventura, said in a statement. “I want to thank my family, fans and lawyers for their unwavering support.”

Diddy then followed up in a statement: “We have decided to resolve this matter amicably. I wish Cassie and her family all the best. Love.”

Now, obviously for Diddy, the settlement probably leaves his bank account missing a nice chunk but it quickly shuts down what could have been a risky and potentially embarrassing process of legal discovery — in which evidence is made public — and a possible trial. And for Cassie, I’m pretty sure she walks away from this a lot richer but also avoids a potentially traumatic experience for her as she avoids a cross-examination Combs’s attorneys.

Now, as I stated previously I’m sure this may be a sigh of relief for Diddy temporarily, but I think this lawsuit has already opened a can of worms where more will likely be revealed and he’s already receiving what’s likely a permanent side eye from the public going forward. Thoughts?
