Joan Hill puts Cardi B haters in their place.
Those who have actually followed Cardi B for quite some time, know that her speaking on politics is nothing new. Recently, she’s been a vocal critic of Donald Trump and his policies. A few weeks ago, Cardi went off over Trump’s government shutdown and how he summoned government employees back to work without any pay. Of course, this sparked a huge conversation among political pundits who feel that Cardi should stick to rapping (as if using her platform to speak on important topics is a bad thing.) However, Joan Hill, Cardi B’s former history teacher refutes that. Over the weekend, Hill clapped back at Cardi’s haters and put them in their place.
Joan Hill was Cardi B’s former history teacher at Renaissance High School for Musical Theatre and the Arts in the Bronx. She took to Facebook over the weekend to issue a message to anyone questioning her former pupil.
“For those of you on my feed who are trashing Cardi B for representing a political voice 1) she probably scored higher than you on the US History regents exam and was in my AP govt class b) you’re not nearly as busy as her, and what have you done to advance political discourse in this country? C) She has a national platform and is using it to speak about things that are important… why can’t we respect that? d) STFU and take a seat,” she wrote.
