HERE FOR IT OR KEEP IT?: Nicki Minaj Says She’s Down For A “Ladies Night (Not Tonight)” Remake – “Of Course I Would Do it? Why Not?”

“I would do it. Why not?”

About a week ago, Waka Flocka got the gears shifting when he publicly suggested a remake of Lil Kim’s classic female posse cut “Ladies Night (Not Tonight.” While the remix in question featured the likes of Missy Elliot, Angie Martinez, Da Brat and Lisa “Left Eye” Lopes, Waka evoked a modern day twist by suggesting that the track be occupied by Nicki Minaj, Cardi B, Remy Ma, and Lil Kim.

Naturally, the bubble burst with many assuming that no such collaboration could take place given the beefs, perceived or not, that Nicki Minaj has had at some point with some of the ladies on the proposed roster. But in her latest episode of Queen Radio on Beats 1, Nicki unveiled that she personally has no isues with anyone and would be open to Waka Flocka’s suggestion.

“There is no one that I don’t like,” she said. “They maybe don’t like me. We’ve got to start knowing the difference when someone doesn’t like Onika vs when Onika doesn’t like them. I’m going to say what the fuckk I want to say but if you’re mad and don’t like Onika that’s on you.”

“In terms of a ‘Ladies Night’ [remake], of course, I would do it why not? I do records with a lot of people,” she added. “If a ‘Ladies Night’ presented itself, yeah I would think about it of course.”

The original “Not Tonight” remix hit No.6 on the Billboard Hot 100 and culturally left behind something of great significance for women in hip-hop. Can that same magic be recreated? Time will surely tell.
