Offset’s new album is officially on the way. He’s been teasing his highly-anticipated follow-up to ‘Father Of 4’ over the last year. Now, he seems to be revving up for it’s official release and is kicking the campaign off with “Jealousy” featuring his wife, the one and only, Cardi B.
With production from Boi-1da, Oz, and Jahaan Sweet, Offset and Cardi bring their natural chemistry to the fold. A James Brown-referencing teaser dropped earlier this week where Set demanded “let’s talk about some music!” rather than questions that were asked about their relationship over the last few weeks and that’s exactly what they did… put it all into the music.
The track features a sample of Three 6 Mafia’s “Jealous A** B*tch” that’s sure to get your head nodding straight out the gate and fits the attitude of the song perfectly. Offset kicks things off with a fast spitting verse that when you really pay attention sees him spitting his ass off and aiming directly at his haters, “I’m sellin’ prescription cocaine/She f*ck with my pimpin’, my cane/I’m Michael, I’m not no Jermaine/Jealousy, that shit gon’ eat your heart out,” he raps.
Cardi then follows up with the alley-oop, with an equally fire verse clearly directed at every single one of her critics. There’s a certain way that Cardi incorporates her one-of-a-kind personality with genuine skill that only she can do. In this verse, she not only flexes on her haters with material items but she takes aim at her detractors within the rap game, too, rapping, “B*tches don’t wanna go Birkin for Birkin/ Bitches don’t got enough hits for a Verzuz.” Overall, Cardi and Offset continue their flawless collaborative streak after records like “Lick” and “Clout,” while Cardi continues to add another muscle emoji-worthy verse to her impress feature run.
