GIRL, WHAT?: Social Media Drags Singer Lexy Panterra for Attempting to Call Out Cardi B & The City Girls – “Where the White Girls in the “Twerk” Video?”

This white singer tagged Cardi and the City Girls in her “diversity” critique.

Cardi B’s collaboration with City Girls made quite an impression. The ‘Twerk’ video got everyone shook, mostly for its bass-heavy visuals. One entertainer, however, got in her feelings about the lack of white girls in the clip. Lexy Panterra, a white singer, hopped on Twitter to direct her concerns at Cardi B: “One question…where are the white girls in @iamcardib twerk video at?”

Of course, this tweet earned the singer the Black Twitter callout. She was quickly reminded that the dancers featured in the music video were selected through a contest open to all women across the globe. Twenty finalists were flown to the exotic location for the shoot and from this group, one outstanding performer would be deemed a winner and given $20 000.

The meritocracy was at work for this particular production.

Serious question: what was the point of you making that comment? I am confused about why you are so upset with CardiB and City Girls having a video embracing only women of color but don't have an issue with the millions of videos with just white girls in it?
