Cardi B’s collaboration with Fashion Nova was highly-anticipated, considering the popularity of both entities. The collection dropped on Wednesday, November 14, and has already sold out most of its pieces. Apparently a couple of the items caught the attention of Ashanti’s sister, Kenashia Douglas, a rising fashion designer.And Douglas seems to think Cardi’s line ripped one of its featured looks from her repertoire.
Shia threw a bit of shade expressing how individuals can be in their efforts to succeed in their industry. She specified how some people are quick to take credit for work that belongs to other artists: “I peeped people, certain designers I’ve worked with even! try to run with the design and make it their own.” Douglas uploaded visual content depicting the design of her matching set as well as Cardi’s for comparison.
“I charged it to the game cuz I’m no hater bitch and I know the possibilities of my creativity are limitless & I can Rely solely on that an be good! however, im reminded no matter how old never doubt myself! # Fashionnova,” she continued.
Considering this particular design isn’t exactly a one of a kind idea and is certainly a style that is hot in the fashion world right now, we can’t really see where Shia would think her design in particular is what sparked Cardi and Fashion Nova’s idea…that and the fact I’m not sure how many of us knew of her designs.
