GIRL, WHAT?: Did Nicki Minaj Hop on A$AP Ferg’s ‘Plain Jane’ Specifically to Compete with Cardi B’s ‘No Limit’ Verse with G Eazy?

Hot 97’s Ebro had quite a bit to say earlier this week about Nicki Minaj and Cardi B’s alleged feud that the internet seems to want to happen so bad.

In case you missed it, Nicki Minaj recently hopped on rapper A$AP Ferg’s ‘Plain Jane’ and delivered what’s undeniably one of her best verses of 2017. While many praised Minaj for her bringing in her trademark wordplay on the track, Ebro had a conspiracy theory of his own on why Nicki decided to deliver her rendition of ‘Plain Jane’ in the first place.

According to the radio host, Nicki hopped on the song specifically to compete with Cardi B’s ‘No Limit’ track with rapper G Eazy. ( Both records share a similar beat as well as similar lyrics structure as they sample “Slob On My Knob,” a 1999 song by Three 6 Mafia rapper Juicy J.) And so Ebro felt Nicki was responding to Cardi’s verse on ‘No Limit.’

Per usual, after Ebro made his thoughts known, Nicki’s “barbz” immediately went on the attack, taking to social media attempting to school the host on the history behind Nicki’s verse. Apparently, Nicki had previously asked fans which song they wanted her to hop on and most voted on A$AP’s ‘Plain Jane.’

“If Ebro’s ugly ass did his research, he’d know that Nicki’s fans had a whole hashtag movement for her to get on the song,” one angry barb clarified, and many others joined in cursing out the radio host for making such an accusation towards their queen.

It is worthy to note that Nicki has clarified many times over and over that she is not beefing with Cardi B. Sadly, there is still a crop of people (especially industry figures) who are intent on putting these two women against one another. Check out the video footage of Ebro explaining his theory along with some of social media’s reactions below:
