CONGRATS IN ORDER: XXXTentacion Posthumously Earns First No. 1 On Billboard Hot 100 With “Sad!”

“Sad!” is XXXTentacion’s first No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100.

It’s a shame that this did not happen while he was still alive but XXXTentacion has earned his first-ever No. 1 record on the Billboard Hot 100. Celebrating countless other achievements, like reaching over a billion streams on Spotify and topping the Billboard 200 album chart with ?, X’s short but storied career continues to make his legacy as strong as it can be. Although Cardi B’s “I Like It” was expected to claim the top spot this week, XXX posthumously duped her, sneaking his way up the throne with “Sad!”

The track had previously peaked at No. 7 in March but, with the star’s untimely passing last week, streams and sales have astronomically risen to a point where it only makes sense for X to reach the top spot. He becomes the first artist to posthumously top the Hot 100 as a lead vocalist since The Notorious B.I.G.’s “Mo Money Mo Problems” in 1997.

Directly following X on the Hot 100 will be Cardi B’s “I Like It” at No. 2, Drake’s “Nice For What” at No. 3, Juice WRLD enjoying his first top 5 hit with “Lucid Dreams” at No. 4 and Maroon 5 and Cardi B’s “Girls Like You” in the fifth spot.

As his music continues to expand its reach to people who had not previously given him a chance, X will achieve further heights posthumously. The Hot 100 will be updated tomorrow on Billboard. For now, check out the list here. Congratulations to the late XXX.
