THAT CARDI REIGN JUST WON’T LET UP: Cardi B Breaks Taylor Swift’s Apple Music Streaming Record

Cardi B’s “Invasion Of Privacy” now holds the record for most-streamed album by a female artist.

Just when you thought that she was fading away, Cardi B made a huge statement a week a go after she released her debut album, Invasion Of Privacy. The project exceeded critical expectations and is on the road to making a huge mark commercially. The “Be Careful” rapper’s expected album sales are nearing 250K within it’s first week. At this point, it seems inevitable that it’ll debut at the top of the charts. That’ll be confirmed later this weekend, however, she’s already made a mark in the streaming world.

Cardi B has taken the crown from Taylor Swift’s previously held record on Apple Music, Variety reports. The “Drip” rapper has reportedly earned over 100 million streams within it’s first week which doubles on Swift’s previously held records. This now makes Cardi’s Invasion Of Privacy the most streamed album from a female artist within the first week. In addition, she already doubled Taylor’s record within the first half of the week.

Cardi’s reign on the streaming platform also makes Invasion Of Privacy the fifth most streamed album on Apple Music’s worldwide chart. At this point, it’s inevitable that she’ll end up launching to number one on the Billboard 200. If she launches to the top as expected, she’ll join Nicki Minaj, Foxy Brown, Lauryn Hill and Eve as the only female rappers to do so.
