HERE FOR IT OR KEEP IT?: Bow Wow Presses BET to Give Him a Job; Wants to Bring Back 106 & Park, Cita’s World, Rap City & More – “BET Forgot What Made Them Hot!”

They say even a broken clock is right twice a day and Liccle Bow Wow actually may be on to something here.

If you grew up a hip hop and R&B fan, you probably have at least a couple of fond memories attached to BET’s classic 106 & Park. If you witnessed the AJ and Free era of the show, perhaps you were even raised on it. The 14 year run of the countdown show came to an end back in 2015, right along with most of the other musical based content that BET was know for back in the day. Now, it seems all we get is reruns of the same Tyler Perry movies on a weekly basis while the original culture based content of the network seems to be long forgotten…but not by everyone.

Before all the clown like behavior (ie: The Bow Wow Challenge) of recent years, Bow Wow was pretty well respected in the music game. At one point in his career he was called Mr. 106 and Park based on his dominance of the countdown show and it’s young audience and apparently he’s looking to bring that era back. In a series of tweets the “Like You” rapper revealed gheis now aiming to bring back the hit countdown show. Bow Wow says he is meerting with BET and will bring the show back live from Atlanta, which is much different from the original New York based series.

The convo started off with a Clubhouse convo of Bow mentioning how he wants to run BET before spilling over to Twitter. “Yo b@bet yall need to hire me in the office! The people have spoken! I have major plays and ideas that can turn the network around and get back to the formula with a new touch! We need to speak this week,” he tweeted.

He then mentioned his dream list for the network which featured of course bringing 106 back along with classics like Rap City, BET Uncut, College Hill, and even the iconic Cita’s World. Check out the series of tweets below. What do you guys think? While Bow Wow can certainly be corny in his own right, he was around for the golden age of BET and would probably understand what it takes to get it back there. Are you here for it?
