I KNOW YOU LYING: Janet Jackson’s Stylist from that 2004 Super Bowl Says Justin Timberlake Planned the Whole Thing to Compete with Madonna & Britney’s Kiss – “It Wasn’t a Malfunction, it Did What it Was Supposed to”

Janet was left to pick up the pieces & take the fall for their infamous 2004 Super Bowl incident, & earlier this year, Timberlake issued a far delayed apology… but now a person behind the scenes is coming out claiming Timberlake had it all planned out.

It was the titty-talk heard the world back in 2004. Justin Timberlake recently issued a formal apology to Janet Jackson following the release of Hulu’s Britney Spears documentary, but things look to still be rocky between Timberlake and the legendary Jackson. Timberlake caught backlash after the documentary suggested that he let the media antagonize Spears after their breakup, leaving many to draw comparisons to his response after his infamous Super Bowl moment with Jackson back in 2004. Although he was the one who ripped off a portion of Jackson’s top, exposing her breast, people blamed Jackson and she was forced by CBS to issue an apology.

Now, here’s where things are about to get spicy. The stylist who prepped Janet Jackson’s look for the infamous appearance recently did an exclusive interview with the folks at Page Six where he claims that Timberlake pushed for the “wardrobe malfunction” in an attempt to outdo Britney Spears, Madonna and Christina Aguilera, who had wowed the world months earlier by scandalously kissing at the MTV Video Music Awards.

The stylist, Wayne Scot Lukas, says that Timberlake “insisted on doing something bigger than their performance. He wanted a reveal.” He says the original concept was for Jackson to be in a pearl G-string inspired by one that Kim Cattrall had worn in an episode of “Sex and the City.” “Janet was going to be in a Rocha dress, and [Justin] was going to step on the back of her dress to reveal her butt in this pearl G-string,” But “the outfit changed a couple of days before, and you saw the magic.” Of course, in the end Timberlake tore off part of her top at the end of their performance, briefly revealing Jackson’s breast.

Timberlake famously labeled the incident a “wardrobe malfunction.” “I wouldn’t call it a wardrobe ‘malfunction’ in a million years. It was the most functioning wardrobe in history. As a stylist, it did what it was intended to do,” he said. Timberlake’s recent apology to Jackson — and his manager Johnny Wright’s subsequent insistence that Jackson forgives him — is what sparked Lukas to open up about the incident after 17 years.

“Janet has already forgiven Justin in private. They made their peace a long time ago,” he said. Now Scot Lukas also says he’s working on a tell-all book in which he’ll tell that story in full for the first time, and reveal other dark secrets from the worlds of fashion and show business. What do you guys think of this? While I totally agree that Justin basically left Janet for dead in terms of backlash, I’m not sure how I feel about the idea that he planned it all. What do you guys think?
