Toronto is not pleased with Lauryn Hill.
Lauryn Hill is currently on the road for a celebratory tour of her beloved LP The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill that has turned 20-years-old this year. The “Lost Ones” singer is infamous for showing up late to her shows, but that didn’t stop the hundreds of fans from copping tickets to see her in Toronto on Wednesday and, unfortunately, Miss Lauryn was still up to her old tricks.
An outpour of fans jumped on Twitter to share their frustration with Lauryn’s ‘performance’ at Toronto’s Budweiser Stage where she showed up an hour late and only played a 45-minute set, that was apparently very rushed. Not only that, but the former Fugees singer was also criticizing her live band and the tech team the whole time – yikes.
You going to the Lauryn Hill Concert?
Lauryn Hill: “Nah you going?”

Some users called the event a “cash grab” while warning others to not waste their money on her ever again. Other fans reference the situation as the only acceptable time to victim blame – peep more reactions below.
The only time victim blaming is acceptable is when it involves people still going to see Lauryn Hill in concert.

If you went to the @MsLaurynHill concert in Toronto tonight and are mad she showed up late…you REALLY know nothing about Lauryn Hill concerts. #notjustonetime #notalwaysontime pic.twitter.com/r8C4bDygHb

Lauryn hill was a big let down last night. From her unrecognizable songs, constant critisim of her band, shortest performance of the show, and throwing off all of Toronto with that terrible nice for what remix. She still the queen though.

So, Ms. Hill hit the stage 2 hours late and then did a 45-minute set.
Gotta agree with @questlove who said: Hill is facing down “the embarrassment of now being a one album legacy artist and the possibility of not mattering anymore in this disposable society.”— Errol Nazareth (@ErrolNazareth) July 19, 2018
