Art imitates life as Saweetie and Quavo find love in her video “Emotional.”
Sometimes, relationships can blossom in the booth. Some flourish on a creative level, like Jay-Z and Beyonce’s collaborative catalog. Others falter, as breakups rear their ugly head; it’s unlikely that G-Eazy and Halsey’s “She And Him” has the same luster it once did for either party. Yet, despite the inherent risks, Saweetie and Quavo have decided to bring their relationship to the studio, a move that resulted in a pair of Icy collaborations. One of them, the radio-friendly “Emotional” has officially received a lavish video treatment, suggesting that they’re looking to move this one forward in a major way.
The clip finds Quavo reaping the benefits of VIP club treatment, as he watches bartenders and enjoys full bottle service, surrounded by a few platonic friends. Saweetie stuns as she enters the club before meeting up with her Migos beau. They show off their chemistry as they make out in the back of a car. The fashionista also flaunts her sexy body in lingerie and dazzles while putting on a show with her girls.
‘Emotional’ shows more of a vulnerable side of me compared to braggadocios tracks like ‘ICY GIRL’ and ‘Pissed’,” explained Saweetie. “It’s been a year since my last project, so I’m excited for my supporters to witness my growth. Music is special because it creates a nostalgic moment in time, and I’m ready to create that next season with my listeners.”
